Lilly informed me today that she wishes she could have a different name every year because, as she put it, she's kind of sick of being Lilly. I suggested the name Cordelia {a la Anne Shirley} and she was quite pleased. So may I introduce you to my new daughter, Cordelia.

You know, Cordelia was the only decent daughter King Lear had. And she married the King of France. It should be noted that she wouldn't suck up to her father (nor would she her mother, if she had one.)
I hope you took all this into consideration when you made your name change suggestion. Because, you also know, everything wrong is always the mother's fault.
